Personalized ornaments

Every Year I like to do a special ornament that is just for each child.  Last year I did these sihlouettes.

First I took a picture of each child from the side.
Print the picture, it can be cheap paper or even in black and white, cut it out and trace it on Black paper
I tried to find chipboard that fit the pictures but I ended up just making my own our of posterboard, you can use the hard backing of a notebook, or cereal boxes.
I inked around the edges.   By rubbing the edge of the ornament on the ink pad.

I love how they turned out and I even made them for my neighbor, one of each of her boys too.  The back has a printed label of "who" and the year.

Holiday clearance

My friend Bryn is a genius. She taught me a trick a couple of years ago. Buy up the after Christmas sale Hershey's kisses. The red and white are Valentines, and the green are for St. Patty's day. You can include the m&m's as well, I think I will get some chocolate coins to mix in with the green kisses. These can freeze for over a year and still be good as new. I made this plate at Vinyl Verses craft night. If you are local you should come. It is the first Wednesday of the month, and items are very discounted at the craft night.

I like this grandmas kitchen sign with the antique silverware for hooks, you can purchase it for {$5} Yes its cheap I know, but I am cleaning house remember.
Do you want this teddy bear nativity? You can have it. Just leave a comment and come pick it up :)

I made several of these boxes to fill with Christmas garland, you can switch it out for more summery stuff in the summer. This one just comes with the christmassy stuff { $5}

This is a Special Order for Mary, I am usually very critical of my own scrapbooky stuff, but I really like it so decided to post a picture. a mini tutorial is on my sidebar.

Westin asked me why we had an ornament of a burned hamburger, that kid cracks me up. I have so many of these lumps of coal (like 30). I ordered them for a bazaar and they didn't come in time.
They are only {$1}
The tag reads:
Santa came up with a new plan this year
For those who are especially cherished and dear.
A wee lump of coal in your stocking you’ll find,
not because you’ve been bad but
because you’ve been ever so kind.
